Caffeine calculator
Enter how many servings you drink during the day. We use typical caffeine content, but in practice it depends on how a drink is brewed and on the product.

How we calculate it
EFSA (2015) concluded that healthy adults can consume up to 400 mg of caffeine per day without safety concerns, and that a single dose of up to 200 mg also raises no concerns. In pregnancy and during breastfeeding the daily limit is 200 mg.
The caffeine content of servings uses typical values; coffee from different places can vary several-fold.
Limitations
- Sensitivity to caffeine is highly individual (genes, medications, sleep). The limit is an upper safety bound, not an encouragement to drink.
- The result does not include pills, pre-workout supplements or drinks of unknown content. Count them separately.
- If you have arrhythmia, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety or take certain medications, discuss your caffeine intake with a doctor. Caffeine in the afternoon worsens sleep.
