Privacy policy

1. Who runs the site

vitmode.com is run by the VitMode editorial team. For anything about personal data, write to redakcja@vitmode.com.

2. What data we process and why

We process only the data on this list:

• Technical connection data (IP address, requested page, browser type, request time) kept in hosting logs. Used to deliver the site, keep it secure and detect abuse. Basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Visit statistics (Google Analytics 4): number of visits, traffic sources, popularity of content. Only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent no analytics cookies are stored.
• Advertising (Google AdSense): if ads are switched on, they load only after your advertising consent and never on pages about selected sensitive topics. Basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Newsletter (MailerLite): the forms script loads only after you consent to statistics. If you subscribe, we process your email address to send you messages. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time, including via the link in each message footer.
• Correspondence: if you write to redakcja@vitmode.com, we process the sender address and the message to reply. Basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Data that stays only in your browser

Some features store data only in your browser memory (localStorage): chosen settings (e.g. theme, language), your consent choices, saved articles and collections, reading history, your supplement stack, results entered into the blood test interpreter and quiz results. We do not send this data to our servers and have no access to it. You remove it by clearing the site data in your browser settings.

Test results and other health data entered into the tools are processed locally on your device. Still, do not enter data that could identify other people.

4. Recipients and service providers

We use services that may see technical data (such as your IP address) when you visit the site:

• Vercel Inc. – site hosting and server logs.
• Google (Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense) – statistics and ads, only with your consent.
• MailerLite – newsletter service, after consent to statistics or when you subscribe.
• Pexels – article photos are loaded from images.pexels.com, so Pexels sees visitors' IP addresses.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

Some of these providers are based or operate infrastructure in the USA. Data may be transferred there under the mechanisms provided by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework – see the providers' privacy policies for details. We do not sell data, and we make no automated decisions or profiling with legal effects about you.

6. How long we keep data

Hosting logs – for the period set by the hosting provider, usually short. Analytics data – per the retention period configured in Google Analytics. Newsletter email address – until you unsubscribe. Correspondence – until the matter is closed, then only as long as the law requires or to defend claims. Data in your browser – until you delete it.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise your rights, write to redakcja@vitmode.com.

You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority – in Poland the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl), elsewhere in the EEA the competent local authority.

8. Consent and cookies

Consent for statistics and advertising is voluntary and off by default. You can change or withdraw it at any time. Details and the settings button are in the Cookie policy.

9. Children

The site is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Security and changes to this policy

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We will announce material changes to this policy on this page by changing the date of the last update.
