Reliability

Our editorial process

Health content has real-world consequences. That's why every entry in our knowledge base goes through a multi-step verification process before it's published.

01

Research and draft

An author with relevant credentials (dietetics, medicine, life sciences) prepares the entry based exclusively on primary sources — clinical trials, meta-analyses and systematic reviews, not secondary blog articles.

02

Subject-matter review

A second person with expertise in the field checks that the content matches the sources, that the mechanisms of action are correct, and that the evidence-strength label is appropriate.

03

Editing and SEO

The text goes through copyediting and structural optimization (headings, table of contents, internal linking) — without changing the factual meaning.

04

Publication and periodic review

After publication, every entry is revisited for review every 12–18 months, or sooner if significant new research emerges that challenges or confirms the existing conclusions.

How we label the strength of evidence

Strong evidence

Numerous clinical trials in humans and/or meta-analyses with consistent results.

Moderate evidence

Promising, but clinical trials limited in number or sample size.

Early-stage evidence

Mostly animal studies, in vitro research, or small pilot trials in humans.

Research hypothesis

A mechanism that's biologically plausible, but poorly or not at all studied clinically.
